According to Article 10 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic, the family is the fundamental unit of society and the main focus of the growth of human excellence, all laws and regulations of the country should be in line with the promotion of the foundation of the family. But according to the registry office in 1396, the number of divorces reached about 175 thousand, the highest recorded in Iranian history.
Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that the family is a natural and basic social element and has the right to benefit from the protection of society and the state. To what extent has the Government of Iran, as one of the signatories of this Declaration, extended its support to this fundamental and social pillar, the family?
