International Day Against Female Genital Mutilation, Commemorating February 6-Video Clip

Since 2003, February 6 has been designated by the United Nations as the International Day Against Female Genital Mutilation (the fight against female genital mutilation). The United Nations has rejected female genital mutilation as a “tradition”, and considers the act of female genital mutilation as a clear example of torture and doing so is a violation of women’s rights and and it is considered a violation of women’s authority over their bodies. In Iran, female genital mutilation It is not a subject matter of public debate ,It is seldom mentioned, and it is kept secret. Unfortunately, hiding the reality do deal a fatal blow to the souls of Iranian girls and silence about this problem and people’s lack of awareness of their inherent rights, even the Ministry of Health, the Welfare Organization and other women’s rights centers have not been forced to address this issue. we women’s and children’s rights defenders citing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Articles 1 and 16) ,Convention on the Rights of the Child and Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (Article 2), call for the elimination of all forms of discrimination against girls and women and we are fighting against all kinds of mental and physical torture against them and we hope to increase the level of awareness of people around the world and with the support of public and private centers, we will see a reduction in the number of female genital mutilation victims in the coming years.
