1344 Statement of the Turkey Representation-Lack of Security for Women

Insecurity and sense of insecurity, an endless fear and a catastrophe for our life

Women and girls of Iran are struggling with street disturbances, vocal harassments, insecurity in public places, fear of walking in the city, acid attack, rape, bag snatching, forced hijab and the necessity of compliance with it even within the personal cars and virtual networks, gender segregations, … and 100 more physical harassments. and government officials and authorities whom are responsible for implementing the security for citizens, are relying on the traditions, narrations and speeches of the religious clergies (Ali Khamenei, Makarem Shirazi, Safi Golpayegani, Ayatollah Alavi and Imams of Friday Prayer), instead of finding the reason and defending them, and not only, they are considering the women and girls to be responsible for these events, but also, they are introducing the affected ones as the accused.

The Right to Have the Right, is my Right.

We and other women rights activists, according to the 2, 3, 5, 7 articles of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which emphasizing the human values and equality, condemning all the discriminatory, misogynist and full of hatred laws of Islamic Republic of Iran, and based on 5th goal of UNESCO`s 2030 agenda: achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, demanding the realization of freedom and elimination of discrimination against the women in a free and secure society. A security which has been mentioned on the Article 2-c of the 48/104 resolution of the United Nation`s General Assembly: Physical, sexual and psychological violence perpetrated or condoned by the State, wherever it
occurs.
