The purpose of announcing this day as International Teacher Day is to appreciating and thanking the teachers and surveying their problems. The UNESCO has recommended to the countries which are the members of this organization to provide the adequate condition at work and living for the teachers and to fostering hope and confidence among them. According to the UNESCO report, one-third of the World’s 70 million teachers are live below the poverty line.
The teacher’s income in Iran is not enough for their living expenses and rapid increasing of daily inflation. Under this circumstance, the motivation of the teachers for proper educating of the children has been decreased and as the consequence, the education system of the country is become more weakened. What ever want to harvest in the country, the seed must planted at the schools and when the conditions of the schools are not favorable, the condition of the society also will be the same. The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, in the 22, 23, 24, 25 articles, emphasized that everyone has the right to social security, economic, social and culture right, right to rest and leisure, right to the standard of living adequate for health and well-being. With reference to the article 3, paragraph 12 and article 29 of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the government should provide fair and equitable economic development accordance to the Islamic standards to create welfare and reduce the poverty, eliminate any deprivation and providing the nutrition, home, work, health, insurance and also having social security in terms of retirement, unemployment, disability, accident, medical health care insurance are rights for all the citizens, and government is obliged to provide the above mentioned services for every citizen under the state and public revenue law.
