This day emphasizes that gender equality is not a privilege, but an obvious and undeniable right that includes safety, freedom of choice, equal access to education, social participation, and an end to structural discrimination.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Hidden Violence Against Women in Iran<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Economic Violence:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preventing employment, controlling income, and even seizing bank cards.<\/li>\n<li>Financial dependence to limit women&#8217;s independence.<\/li>\n<li>Lower wages for women in the workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Psychological and Emotional Violence:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Humiliation in public, silence, and indifference as &#8220;punishment.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Mocking values and undermining women&#8217;s self-confidence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Sexual Violence:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ignoring sexual consent in marital relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Proposals for relationships by employers for hiring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Legal Violence:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requirement of permission from a husband for married women or a father for daughters to leave the country.<\/li>\n<li>Legal discrimination in laws and certain court rulings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Discrimination Against Single Women:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cultural, social, and economic pressures and lack of independence for female heads of household.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Honor Killings; Death with Legal Support:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discriminatory laws are one of the factors for the continuation of femicide in Iran.<\/li>\n<li>In some cases, the law grants leniency for family-related killings.<\/li>\n<li>Exemption of the father from retribution for the murder of a child.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Digital Violence Against Women:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase in threats, slander, and harassment in cyberspace.<\/li>\n<li>Publication of private information or images without consent.<\/li>\n<li>Lack of effective laws to protect women&#8217;s privacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Statistics of Violence Against Women in Iran (2025)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1923 people were executed in Iran, of whom 59 were women.<\/li>\n<li>203 women in Iran were victims of &#8220;honor killings&#8221; (Experts believe the actual figures are much higher, as many cases are never recorded).<\/li>\n<li>According to the Statistical Center of Iran, 94% of spousal abuse cases recorded in forensic medicine are related to women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Universal Declaration of Human Rights:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Article 1: All are born free and equal.<\/li>\n<li>Article 2: Non-discrimination.<\/li>\n<li>Article 7: All are equal before the law.<\/li>\n<li>Article 22: Right to social security.<\/li>\n<li>Article 23: Right to safety of work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>UNESCO 2030 Agenda:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Goal 4: Ensuring high-quality and equal education for all.<\/li>\n<li>Goal 5: Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.<\/li>\n<li>Goal 8: Promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full employment, and decent work for all.<\/li>\n<li>Goal 10: Reducing inequalities within and among countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Article 20: Equality of men and women under the protection of the law and enjoyment of human, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.<\/li>\n<li>Article 21: Government commitment to protect women&#8217;s rights, strengthen their position in society, and support mothers and women without guardians.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4069\" data-end=\"4151\">\n<p data-start=\"4069\" data-end=\"4151\"><strong data-start=\"4069\" data-end=\"4113\">Defense of Human Rights Association in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4069\" data-end=\"4151\"><strong>Defense of Women`s Rights Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4069\" data-end=\"4151\">Translated by Alireza Jahan Bin<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Cry for Equality Against Discrimination and Oppression International Women&#8217;s Day is a symbol of women&#8217;s historical struggle to achieve equality, human dignity, and fundamental rights.
