Omid Alishenas and Aso Rostami, two political prisoners at Evin prison, were not sent to the court, as they refused to wear prison clothes.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), these two prisoners of ward 8 of Evin prison, were supposed to be transferred to the court on Sunday morning, 10th May, for notification of their sentence, but as they refused to wear the prison clothes, the relevant agents Avoided to take them to the court and transferred them back to ward 8.
According to one of prisoners’ relatives, they have stated that they refused to wear prison clothes, because this duress is illegal.
This source told HRANA’s reporter: “The morning that they were supposed to be sent to the court, they dressed and were ready, but at the ward door, they have been ordered to wear prison clothes and they refused to do so, because it is illegal, so that they were not sent to the court.”
Omid Alishenas, civil activist, was arrested on 4th September and was transferred to ward 2-A of Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and although a bail of 100 million Rials was issued for him, unfortunately, the primitive court, also earlier, prosecutor office, for unknown reasons refused to accept the bail. He later was charged by the court and was transferred to ward 8 of Evin prison and is waiting for the court verdict.
Aso Rostami was arrested after the demonstration in front of the UN office in support of the Kubani on Wednesday, 8thOctober and he is currently waiting for primitive court verdict notification in ward 8.
