This date has been chosen due to the brutal murder of three Mirabel sisters, who were political activists and women rights defender (From the Dominican Republic). The violence against women and human rights violation is, increasing in discrimination and inequality between women and men. The World Health Organization, its defined the women Violence as:
any aggressive behavior which is related to gender and as its consequences the physical and psychological harm and suffering to women. The followings are most Violence against women in worldwide:
Rape, forced prostitution, child marriage (according to the official reports yearly 180 thousand child in Iran are forced to get married), forced pregnancy, female genital mutilation, buying and selling women and girls, Acid attacks (several cases in Iran, in cities of Isfahan, Tabriz, Mashhad,….because of unveil and families problem have been seen), misbehavior against women employees, women’s harms in prison, patriarchy.
In the last one year, more than hundreds women due to participate at the anti-governmental protests are arrested and has been abused. From the beginning of the presidential term of Hassan Rouhani many women has executed.
The followings are the discrimination against women in regime of Islamic Republic of Iran; less income rather than men, women’s prohibits to enter to the stadiums, compulsory veiling, prohibition to do the sports in the public places (cycling, motor riding and swimming,…), woman can’t have a job or exit from country without permission of father and husband, women’s blood money is less than men, two women’s testimony in court is equal to one man, no rights to get divorce and having legal custody of child. The article 1108 of civil code of regime of Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized that if women avoid to the her duties for a husband can not get a alimony. The rights to sex obedience, in Islamic jurisprudence is the rights of men to the wife’s without a religious excuse, they can not prevent the husband from adultery.
We can with:
1. Increasing the awareness and education of families (especially boys) regarding to the gender equality in a less developed societies.
2. Fighting against the girls Violence in schools through families and Human Rights defender groups.
3. Helping and assisting to the girls and women who are the victims of all kinds of violence instead of humiliating and judging.
4. Utilizing the social networks for announcement, notification and make more awareness about the sexual violence victims experiences.
Have a effective action to break the taboo on violence against women.
